'I have been a meat eater for most of my life. I went six months vegetarian during my early twenties, but went back to it for a long time. I slowly cut down meat over the years and decided to take the jump to vegetarianism after watching Vegucated on Netflix in April 2013. Shortly after I got very much into researching the health benefits of eating less animal products in general and by Christmas I had started following Freelee and DurianRider on YouTube. At this time I had lost about 13 pounds and weighed about 115. After a couple weeks of eating between 3000-6000 calories, I had lost another 5 pounds and briefly reached 110 before falling off the wagon with special, stressful events around February. I had overestimated my abilities and I had not been prepared for certain events and just a little bit of fatty, non vegan choices sent me into a tailspin. I started to consciously and subsconsciouly restrict calories because I had started to gain and felt I couldn\'t take much more weight gain. After months of experimenting and finally realizing calorie restriction, while successful short-term, will NEVER help in the long run. Fighting both my conscious and unconscious mind, as well as my habits and the effects of what I have done to my body over the years, I slowly found ways to implement this way of eating more and more. Months later I start to level out and the scale started to go down. Sometimes the scale doesn\'t go down, but that\'s when the measurements usually do. At point of publication I am about where I was when I first went vegetarian, but I am able to eat much more tasty food whenever I want. I am also healthier in many many ways, but I have covered that in another video. Thanks for watching!'
