'Catching yabbies is a great past time. As a kid I was often told that you could use stockings, or pantyhose to help catch yabbies. I think the belief was that the yabbies would bite into the stocking and get their claws stuck. I do not know whether this is true and I actually doubt that it is. In my case, I needed sexy stocking to help hold my bait. You see, one of my favourite yabbying baits is dry dog food. Dry dog feed works well in collapsible bait traps that have a pouch to put your bait in, but open top lift nets do not have such a pouch, so I decided to make a temporary pouch with a stocking.
