'#spicyricecake#tteokbokki#떡볶이 HOW TO MAKE TTEOKBOKKI (HOT AND SPICY RICE CAKE) Today I want to share Tteokbokki(떡볶이) which is one of the most popular street foods in Korea. Today\'s recipe is made with Korean rice cakes, Korean fish cakes, and gochujang(Korean chili paste). It\'s super delicious, you must try this! Enjoy the recipe! Ingredients : 450g cylinder shaped rice cake 700ml water 5 large size dried anchovies 1 small square size of dried kelp 2 green onions,bias chopped 2 hard boiled eggs, shelled (optional) 2 pieces of cut fish cake (optional) 1/4 medium cabbage,chopped into cubes(optional) 2 tablespoons chili pepper paste 3 tablespoon chili pepper flakes 1 tablespoon soy sauce 2 tablespoons sugar 1 corn syrup (or 1-2 teaspoons sugar) Recipe: 1. Add the water, dried anchovies, and dried kelp to a shallow pot or pan. 2. Boil for 10 minutes over medium high heat without the lid. 3. Combine chili pepper paste, chili pepper flakes, soy sauce, corn syrup and sugar in a bowl. 3. Remove the anchovies and kelp from the pot. 4. In a pan, put the boiled broth from dried anchovies and kelp. 5. Add the sauce mixture to the pan. 6. Put rice cake, cabbage, green onion, and the optional fish cakes and hard boiled eggs. 7. Stir gently with a wooden spoon when it starts to boil. Keep stirring until the rice cake turns soft and the sauce thickens and looks shiny, which should take about 10 -15 minutes. (If the rice cake is not soft enough, you may add more water and continue stirring until it soften. If you use frozen rice cake, thaw it first and soak it in cold water to soften it before cooking.)
