'Some consumers have a hard time processing the information found on food nutritional labels due to low levels of “food literacy” -- that is, a general lack of nutritional education and knowledge. Prof. Tanya Mark, Department of Marketing and Consumer Studies, is interested in helping consumers make healthier choices. In particular, she is interested in understanding if consumers are more likely to buy healthier food products if there is a simple, easy to understand front-of-package labelling system on products in stores.
