Supermarket food shelves and aisles displayed a lack of food in light of the current coronavirus outbreak. The area around Hongshan stadium can be seen surrounded by police vehicles, that have been set up on the main avenues and at the entrance of tunnels and on bridges, as checkpoints to help check the spread of the virus. The stadium itself is now a quarantine centre, with the hospitals running at full capacity. Over 500 have died in China and more than 28,000 people have been infected with the respiratory disease which is thought to have originated in the city of Wuhan in China in late December.
